Well, I think it’s safe to say I’ve been absent from my blog for a while. It’s been a few months since I published my last blog post, but it really doesn’t seem like that long ago. Life has been a little busy lately, and I’ve been having a few issues with my blog which has really put a stop on things. So I think it’s time I just bit the bullet and dealt with things. So here is an explanation as to where I have been these past few months and a little life update.
This blogging break all began with the issues on my blog. I like things to be perfect and everything to work 100%. But a few months ago a huge chunk of images on my blog just disappeared. I think in total over 50 images just went poof! Which is frustrating and a bit upsetting when you have painstakingly spent time editing each image and uploading it onto the blog posts. So I decided to ask for help.
It began with me asking SiteGround for help, who host my website. I figured it might be an issue with the servers or something on their end. If I’m honest, as much as they tried to help it came up with a dead end. I was then told to go to Jetpack who link my blog to WordPress. Again. Another dead end. They told me to go back to Site Ground. So over the next two to three months I was going around in circles trying to get an answer. In the end I gave up because neither of them were going to help me to fix the problem.
If I ever get time I will have sit through my whole blog, go through each post individually and somehow find the right pictures for me to upload. Which is going to take hours to do. The image below is an example of what has been happening on my blog… As you can imagine its quite frustrating.
I really have missed blogging. But because I’m quite a perfectionist it didn’t seem right to be posting new content when I was so unhappy about what was already out there. So I honestly just need to find a week or maybe a month… to just sort through my computer to fix this issue. If I can ever find time to do it.
This kind of leads on from the last point in trying to find time to do stuff. I have so many blog posts all lined up ready to write about my the adventures for the first half of the year. But it seemed pointless to write those posts if the pictures was just going to disappear.
In the first few months of the year I kicked it off with a trip to Poland with my best friend. There we went skiing in the most beautiful scenery and it was such a memory trip. I took loads of photos on that trip… maybe too many (oops) so I will have to post them on my social media sometime in the Winter when it’s more weather appropriate for snowy ski photos.
Not long after that I enjoyed a short stay in Edinburgh with Jon. This was such a wonderful trip, and it was so nice to explore another area of Scotland. The trip actually started off quite rocky as I had fallen ill with the sickness bug a few days before the trip. Thankfully I made it through the flight but I didn’t feel fully myself until one or two days into my stay. So I couldn’t enjoy myself to the fullest until a few days into the trip. It didn’t stop me from making the most of it and really exploring the area.
I’m looking forward to staying in Edinburgh again at some point in the future. Maybe in a different season so I can see the blossom or maybe the rich tones of the leaves in Autumn. Hopefully I will be feeling more myself next time!
It’s coming up to a year now from when I first got my job as a Graphic Designer. The time has definitely flown by. I’ve been spending a lot of my time working on my creative portfolio as well as completing my courses for college to ensure I get my qualification. There has definitely been more of a focus on that as I’m aiming to complete the Apprenticeship part of my job in just over a year.
Overall I think it’s safe to say I’ve been pretty distracted with my general day to day life getting in the way of things. I think it will be nice to get back into blogging to give myself more of a routine again.
So I hope you stick around for the next few months whilst I get my blog back up and running smoothly again. Until then I apologise for the missing photos. I just need to find some spare time to sort through them and eventually upload.
Thanks for sticking with me.
