Shrewsbury is this wonderful little county town which is situated in Shropshire, England. This is also my favourite place to visit and it is just so quirky and cute with all the old style buildings. I have never been to Shrewsbury this time of year, so it was so lovely to see the festive lights and Christmas decorations all around the town. If you get time this December, I would recommend you visit a different city to see their Christmas lights whilst exploring somewhere new.
After recently passing my driving test I decided it was time to face the motorways! I was questioning whether I could do it or not. After realising the journey time would be cut down on the motorway and the roads would be a lot quieter since I missed rush hour, I decided to go for it. Mum selected the best route so I could enter the motorway with a long slip road, as I’m not a fan of motorways. Overall the journey up went amazing and it felt great going on the motorway for the first time. But the journey was so tiring as I had to concentrate a lot.
Shrewsbury is quite difficult to find parking in, so instead of dealing with that we went to a park and ride. The one that we went to was Meole Brace. For three adult return tickets it cost us just over £2 which is much cheaper than paying for parking, not to mention it’s less stressful.
For most of the day I went around the park with my Mum and Jonatan, which is somewhere that I haven’t had chance to go before. It was so nice walking around and looking exploring the park. To escape the busy town and just hear the birds singing away and seeing the fishermen catching fish was so peaceful. I really recommend visiting Shrewsbury if you ever get chance as it is a lovely little town.
This has been a my Travel Blogmas post for Day 7! Have you ever been to Shrewsbury, if so let me know in the comments.
