My Favourite Christmas Songs | Blogmas Day 6

Christmas Songs

When it’s December a lot of stores change their typical top of the charts music to the Christmas Classics that we all recognise and love. You hear the children singing along to the words and catch yourself doing the same.

But there’s something so special about these songs, as people of all generations know them. I have created a list of my favourite Christmas songs as well as a playlist to go with them all. I hope you enjoy listening to these songs as you get ready for Christmas…

My Favourite Christmas Songs

A lot of these songs you might have already heard, but there might be a few you have not. These songs are classics in the Baker household and they are a family favourite. We usually play them on the CD player when the decorations go up. So they are part of Tradition for me. I hope you enjoy listening to them as much as I do…

I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday – Wizzard

Merry Christmas Everyone – Slade

Fairytail Of New York – The Pogues

Do They Know Its Christmas? – Band Aid (1984)

Step Into Christmas – Elton John

It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas – Johnny Mathis

Jingle Bell Rock – Bobby Helms

Somewhere Only We Know – Lily Allen

Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree – Mel and Kim

Walking in The Air – Aled Jones

Stop The Cavalry – Jona Lewie

Christmas Time – The Darkness

Carol Of The Bells

White Christmas – Bing Crosby

A Spaceman Came Travellin – Chris De Burgh

In Dulci Junilo – Mike Oldfield

Walking in The Air – The Snowman (Peter Auty)

Out of all of these songs I would say my favourite has to be Slade, the song is one you can just sing your heart out too, with those around you. A lot of these songs are the old classics as the new songs from artists such as Ariana and Michael Buble usually just remix the older songs into their own versions. I have listened to them and I think they’re good but the originals are better.

Have you heard any of these songs before? Let me know what if your favourite Christmas song, I would love to hear your suggestions!
