This time of year the changing colours of the leaves are truly stunning, so of course, I went out on the weekend to take some photographs in a local park. As well as taking some blog post pictures of my outfit, featuring an amazing Aviator Jacket that I’m in love with. The coat is something I have been loving to wear as it was a complete bargain.
This absolute DREAM of a coat was a purchase I made at the end of summer… At the very start of September, I went up town with my mum to spend some hard earned cash from my first ever wage slip, and this coat was one of the items I purchased that day. But sadly the weather has not been kind to this coat, as it has been far too HOT to even wear. It has been sitting in my wardobe dying to get worn for ages, and now the temperatures are slowly dropping so I can finally break it in.
If I’m honest I wasn’t too sure about this style of coat when I first saw it, as I did not own anything like it in my collection. It also appears that I was living under a rock and didnt notice this trend at all last year (tut tut). But I’m experimenting more with my outfits this year and I took a gamble and brought it on a whim. As time has gone on, I have grew to love this coat loads. It is really easy to style as an all black outfit or something that has a pop of colour. Not to mention it is so cosy as warm, you can just snuggle up in it.
In the past month I have seen this coat pop up everywhere, as the weather is getting colder this coat is becoming more appropriate for the season. ASOS, Zara and New Look have done some lovely high street Aviator Coats but they were considerably higher in price than what I paid. Would you believe me if I told you I brought this coat for £30! Yes, you read it right £30. Now, you might be asking where the hell did I get it from… Primark!
You honestly cannot go wrong when it comes to Primark, they make great clothes at affordable pricetags so this aviator jacket worth every single penny. The jacket itself was part of a collaboration with Glamour, and as well as releasing this, they also released a few other items as part of the collection.
It is fully faux fur lined even in the arms, so this coat is riduclously warm and cosy, probably too warm for for England right now. But coat and hat season is just around the corner which is very exciting. So I will soon be able to wear the heck out of this coat. I find it is important to invest in a good winter staple like boots, knitwear and of course coats. These are things you can wear year after year and they are something that need to stand the test of time.
This year the high street stores are flooded with aviator coats, all ranging in different colours and styles and it’s difficult not to want all of them. But if you can’t find a jacket in one shop then it will certainly be in another, but this one from Primark is hard to beat!
I’m sure you have had enough of me rambling on about this coat, but I have really grown to love it and now is my favourite clothing item this season. Now for a quick breakdown of the rest of the outfit to complete this Outfit Of The Day.
I kept the overall outfit pretty simple and affordable with everything from the high street and all black in colour. Apart from this coat I paired this look with a second favourite item of mine which is a lovely constellation top from ASOS, I saw this top when I was on holiday in Scotland and instantly fell in love, so I ordered it as soon as I could. This top was difficult to get as it kept on going in and out of stock so if you are interested I would stalk the ASOS website until your size is back online. You can buy the top – here.
Of course I paired this look with classic black jeans, which everyone seems to own as they are a wardrobe essential. Mine are from a brand called Noisy May which you can also find on ASOS. I got them as part of my Christmas clothes last year and I have worn them practically every day since then, so much so the colour faded and they had to be dyed black again… I also ripped them at the belt hoop so they had to be repaired… oops. But I do love them and they have definitely got their money’s worth.
The last two parts to this outfit is the Black Pumas, and my Black Shoulder Bag which I got back in the Summer from Matalan. I initially got the bag as it reminded me of a Chloé Nile Bag with the hoop on the front but is no where near as expensive. The bag itself is deceiving, you would think it would be quite small but you can fit loads in there. I was able to fit my Canon DSLR, phone, a small tote bag, keys and a small purse, they all went it but it was a snug fit. This outfit kept things minimal allowing the colours of Autumn to really shine.
