Glen Coe, the lands that have inspired many and has featured in so many amazing films! Including some of my person favourite films, Harry Potter. When I was first looking at places to visit in Scotland, there was one location that really stood out. It was Glen Coe.
During my time up in Oban, there was an opportunity to visit Glen Coe as part of a day trip. So, of course, I jumped at the opportunity to go. I was finally seeing the beautiful lands that inspired the whole trip.
The only problem was when I got there, a huge film crew had closed down all viewing spots for the vehicles. It turns out they were filming ‘Mary Queen of Scots’. So it was only a passing visit through Glen Coe but I still tried to take as many pictures as I possibly could.
Overall the views were amazing! I just found it a shame that there was nowhere to stop and take pictures… so the photos you are seeing are from my phone from inside a coach. It still makes an awesome story seeing a massive film crew in the process of creating a film. You can guarantee I will be watching the film to see how they ended up filming the location. Also so I can say “I’ve been there”!
Glen Coe was just a small section of the day. The coach ended up travelling to lots of different places so I got to see lots of Scotland that day. With Lochs and national parks in the local area.
Overall I really enjoyed my time in Glen Coe. If you ever get the chance I fully recommend you visit there. The views are just amazing! I cannot wait to go back again and go hiking in the area. If you are interested in reading about my other adventures in Scotland then click > here <
Have you ever been to Glen Coe, or anywhere in Scotland? If so did you enjoy it, I would love to hear about your experiences.
