July has already come and gone and I cannot believe how quickly that month has flown by, it was a very busy month for me and a lot of fun things has happened as well as a few exciting purchases. So in my favourites I will be talking about everything I have been loving from lifestyle to travel.
I made a few purchases before I went on holiday, one of the main things that I was after was Blue High Waisted Jeans, it was such a challenge to find a plain pair of jeans with no rips, no frilled edges and one that was comfy to wear. Just when I thought I was loosing hope on ever finding a good pair of jeans, ASOS came to the rescue!! The jeans are so comfortable and I love the way they look with a pair of heals or a folded hem and trainers. I have added all of my favourite jeans that I was looking at, with a few embroidered jeans that I have also been eyeing up in the slider below.
The Battle of The Blues
The next purchase I made was a pretty important one. It was something I had been thinking about for some months now. Towards the very end of July I decided to make the move to become a self hosted WordPress Blog! This was a major step for me and a scary one as well but I am so happy with my new theme, domain name and how things are progressing with the blog. This is one of my top favourites for the month as it was such a major move but it was one thing that I am glad I did.
There is still a few more tweaks to be made. But the majority of the work in customising the blog has been done. I will be writing a blog post on my move from WordPress hosted to going self hosted and all the details you need to be aware of if you are interested in the change. If you would like to continue to receive blog notifications be sure to subscribe to receive email notifications.
I really do appreciate all of your kind comments and taking the time to read my blog over the past few months, it means a lot and I hope you stick around for the journey to come.
Other things that I have really been loving lately is a phone case I brought whilst in the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam. There was a really beautiful painting in the museum of ‘Almond Blossoms’ and I felt it was such a captivating piece. So much so I brought a phone case to remind me of my time there as well as the painting. It is so cute but I am a bit nervous of dropping the phone as the top and bottom of it is not as protected as my older cases.
This last purchase might seem a little silly to be my in favourites but honestly I have been wanting this Ikea Duvet for the longest time. It was something that I saw and loved every time I went to Ikea so on my last trip there I decided it was time for me to buy it. The duvet has such a homely and cosy feel to it and I love the pattern.
I Turned 18
I’m sure many of you are aware of this, but I turned 18 last month and I decided to celebrate by going abroad to Amsterdam. Being 17 did get a little bit annoying towards the end as I was still being treated like a child and not able to do stupid little things like set up a PayPal account or vote in the latest election despite being mature enough to handle both of those things. So I was relieved to turn 18! I even had my first legal drink in Amsterdam whilst looking out over the city. You couldn’t beat the views, it was definitely a birthday to remember.
I got a car in June! How crazy is that. That was something I never thought I would get at my age. Driving and cars were never really in the picture for this stage of my life, but I started to learn to help out my family. It was a bit of a process researching, finding and looking at cars but in the end I got a little Toyota Yaris and I love it. I have been driving it a bit more in July and really been liking the freedom that comes with having a car.
I have had just over 20 lessons right now and it has really been a learning curve for me, at the start I knew nothing about the clutch, how to drive a manual or the manoeuvres. I was that bad. But after a bit of tuition I have been able to become a more competent learner. There is still a bit to go in terms of becoming more confident and driving more independently, but I have really been enjoying the process of driving. Despite it being a bit stressful at times!! But I am really happy with the progress I have been making especially in the past two months.
This was definitely the highlight of the month and by far my favourite thing. It was so much fun to explore the city and I had so much fun. I have talked about Amsterdam in detail in various blog posts for days one, two and three if you haven’t read them feel free to check it out. With this holiday, the only thing I would change was the length of time I stayed there, three days wasn’t enough to get a full sense of the city but a lot of cool activities and adventures was crammed into the short time I stayed there. When I was there I would say the following places were the best part of the trip by far…
So this has been all of my favourite things during the month of July, it was a very busy month and a lot of fun and exciting things happened, so let me know what you think of my first ever favourites blog post? What was your favourite thing of July??
